NONGSTOIN: People are eagerly awaiting clean and regular water supply in West Khasi Hills. This dream was invoked by none other than the Minister of PHED Shitlang Pale while laying the foundation stone for the Nongstoin Urban Water Supply Scheme in December last year. The Scheme worth a whopping 133,94,12,700 has roused the interest of several contractors who are eager to make their bids once the tender for the same is floated.

It may be reminded here that the foundation stone was laid when H Prasad was the then Chief Engineer of the PHED. During this period, S K Sun assumed office as the new Chief Engineer. The Scheme is yet to be implemented although it had been sanctioned by the Govt of Meghalaya on February this year.

While talking to this scribe on the project, the Chief Engineer made it known that the tender would be floated in two weeks from now.
