Militants kill villager, open fire on truck

TURA: Suspected GNLA militants shot dead a villager in remote Rohanpara village under Purakhasia region of West Garo Hills on Tuesday night and also opened fire on a passing commercial vehicle near Sibbari in South Garo Hills on Wednesday morning.

It is reported that armed GNLA militants took away the villager from his home late at night and shot him dead suspecting him to be a police informer.

On Wednesday morning, a commercial Tata Sumo vehicle going from Mancachar in Assam towards Baghmara in South Garo Hills was fired upon by suspected GNLA militants at Sibbari area at 6:40 am. No casualty was reported.
