Kohima: The NSCN (IM) has said that Naga people are concerned on the proposed talks between Khaplang and the Burmese military junta as ‘all Nagas are inseparable and Nagalim embraces all their ancestral domains.’
In a joint statement, Qhevihe Chishi Swu, Convener of the Steering Committee of NSCN and T. T. Among, Kilo Kilonser (home minister) of Government of Peoples Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) asked on what agenda the Khaplang group would talk about and under what framework. It said NSCN under the ‘legitimate leadership’ of Isak and Muivah had declared unilateral ceasefire with Burma years ago. ‘People from all quarters query whether Khaplang is mandated by the people, whether he really represents the issue/future of the Nagas,’ the statement said. ‘We are also strongly opposed to the kind of ceasefire that escalates factional fighting on the one hand and makes haven for those organisations that are hostile to the Naga people on the other,’ the statement said.
