Washington: At least one person was killed and over 100 others were injured in a US city after a large tent collapsed in a stormy weather, a media report said.
The incident occurred Saturday in downtown St. Louis, a city in the US state of Missouri, reported Xinhua citing local media.
A few hundred people had gathered inside the tent to celebrate the victory of the local baseball team just when the incident occurred, said St. Louis Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson.
According to KSDK TV station, the tent at Kilroy’s Bar near the Busch Stadium was knocked down by high winds caused by a thunderstorm.
St. Louis fire department rushed at least 17 people to a hospital for their injuries, while 100 others received medical treatment at the site. Five people were in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon, it added. (IANS)
