One killed, several hurt in road mishaps

 SHILLONG: One died and several injured in separate road accidents in the state. Kones Nongbet died on the way to Shillong Civil Hospital on Sunday. Nongbet sustained serious injuries when a truck he was guiding hit him while reversing at Sohryngkham. The 108 ESA based at Mawryngkneng was shifting him when he died en route to the hospital.

A loaded truck (AS11AC–5687) on its way to Guwahati overturned on a turning at Shang Bangla, Ri Bhoi District on Monday. The driver Zakir Hussain and helper Illal Ahmed were admitted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital. Bringshailin Mawlong a motorist sustained injuries after he fell off from his motorbike (MLO5E–9621) when he hit a stone at Sohiong Parmaw under Mawphlang Block, East Khasi Hills on Sunday.The 108 ESA based at Mawphlang admitted Bringshailin Mawlong to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.

A pedestrian walking on the side of the road at Mawlai Kynton Massar sustained injuries after being hit by a scooter (MLO5B–1446) on Sunday . Oswall Lyngdoh Marshylla was admitted to to Roberts Hospital, Shillong. Ranjit Khongshae sustained injuries after he fell off from his motorcycle after it hit a stone at 20th Mile, Byrnihat the same day.

A Meghalaya Transport Corporation bus (MLO3–0144) on its way to Silchar from Shillong went off on a turning and fell into a gorge at Mawlyndep on Saturday The injured were admitted to Shillong Civil Hospital.

In another vehicle related accident 2 people sustained injuries when a truck and a Maruti Van were involved in an accident at Kyndong Basa near Sohryngkham on Saturday at 9:24am.
