SHILLONG: The police have registered a case against leaders of various NGOs who first called a public meeting and then night road blockade over the issue of enrollment of doubtful voters in the State.

Sub-Inspector LD Sangma has lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri Police Station stating that on April 23 during a public rally at Motphran called by four NGOs, the KSU president Daniel Khyriem, FKJGP working president Joe Marwein, its general secretary Wellbirth Rani, HNYF chief GH Kharshanlor and its general secretary Sadon VK Blah delivered inflammatory speeches.

“They also called for a two-day night road blockade on April 25 and 26. Following this, incidents of petrol bomb throwing, burning of Government and private vehicles and other violent incidents took place in Shillong,” the complaint said.
