Miscreants attempt to torch St. George principal’s vehicle

 Shillong: Police are yet to trace the persons involved in the attempted torching of the vehicle that belonged to the principal of St George School, Nongmynsong on Saturday evening.

A day after the principal Simon Joseph was detained by the police for molesting a 14 year old girl, his vehicle, a Tata Indica, which was parked inside the school compound was torched at around 8:45 in the evening.

The Tata Indica car was partially damaged in the attack.

It may be mentioned that on Friday, Joseph was arrested for molesting a student of St George School following which he was arrested after an FIR was lodged by the girl’s family.

Meanwhile, the KSU and CSWO has condemned the act of the principal. They have also demanded the concerned authorities to refrain from granting bail to the accused.
