Congress focussing on youth

Shillong: With less than a year to go for the 2013 Assembly Elections, the Congress is going all out to take the youth into confidence by getting them involved in the party through the Youth Congress.

“The youth are the foot soldiers of a party and future of the State. It is very important to strengthen them and instill in them a sense of commitment for the betterment of the party and the state as a whole”, Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) president Gabriel Wahlang said in a meeting held at Laitkor where Bitlut Nongsteng was elected as the president of the Nongkrem Youth Congress on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering, the MPYC president spoke at length about the vision, strength and commitment of the youth towards the welfare of youth of the State.

Chairman of the Nongkrem Block Congress Committee (NBCC) Waibha Kyndiah and Draison Kharshiing, Congress candidate from Nongkrem constituency among others were also present on the occasion.
