CEO holds meet on poll preparations

 SHILLONG: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) P Naik on Monday held a meeting with all the seven deputy commissioners of Meghalaya, in Shillong for a detailed discussion on preparations for the Assembly elections scheduled for the early part of next year.

Official sources on Monday said that the matters related to expenditure on elections and the number of new polling stations to be set up figured in the meet.

Meghalaya will go to the polls on the basis of the newly delimited Assembly constituencies for the first time. There will be another round of meeting with regard to the security requirements in all the districts, sources added.
