Govt to felicitate Everest hero

SHILLONG: The State Government will felicitate Gary Jarman Lamare who recently made history by becoming the first person from Meghalaya to climb Mount Everest.

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma informed this in a statement on Wednesday while extended his heartiest congratulations to Gary for the achievement.

“It is an achievement that only Gary can fully comprehend and on behalf of the people of Meghalaya I extend my sincere felicitation to Gary Jarman Lamare for having put the State on top of the world,” Dr Sangma said.

Wishing Gary a safe and quick return, the Chief Minister urged upon other young people to ‘follow their dreams and aim to achieve the seemingly impossible’.
