JOWAI: Khliehriat Police on Thursday recovered the bodies of Monoj Singh and Bijender Dubey, both coal traders, who were kidnapped by unknown miscreants from Latyrke village on May 7.

The bodies were recovered from a 70-ft deep coal mine at a place called Umthi about 30 km from Jaintia Cement plant bordering between Sutnga and Nongkhlieh Elaka.

The highly-decomposed bodies were spotted by some fishermen who had gone fishing at Umthi river.

The fishermen immediately informed Khliehriat Police who rushed to the spot and pulled out the bodies from the mine.

Police later informed the relatives of the deceased who identified the bodies.
