SHILLONG: After failing to respond to the voting right issue raised by the outfit, the ANVC (B) chairman Rimbu N Marak has asked the GHADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Purno K Sangma to put in his papers by June 5.

“The GHADC CEM should resign on moral ground,” Marak said in a statement issued here on Sunday.

“If he fails to resign from his office within the given deadline, the outfit will force him to do the same,” he said.

“As the head of the Council, it was his duty to look into the issues which are in the larger interest of the people. But shockingly the CEM was found busy campaigning for the 2013 Assembly election,” Marak said.

“Politicians should stop protecting outsiders for their own interest,” he said adding that several outsiders had cast votes during last council and assembly polls.
