Lapang inaugurates school building

 NONGPOH: The Chief Adviser to the government and MPCC chief recently inaugurated 2 new class rooms of Nongtluh Higher Secondary School and also the VIP Gallery at Diwon village.

Also on the same day, Lapang inaugurated the new school building of Diwon Upper Primary School at Diwon village. The school building was constructed under the SSA scheme at an estimated cost Rs.6.18 lakh. The inauguration programme was also attended by MC Deka, District School Education Officer, headman, village elders, students, teachers and parents.

Speaking on the occasion, Lapang congratulated the managing committee and the teachers of the school for the service rendered by them for school children. He called them to carry on their services by rendering with the best quality education to the school children right from the grassroots level.

NSCC organizes trees plantation : The Nongthymmai Sport and Cultural Club (NSCC) on Friday organized a tree plantation programme at Nongthymmai village, Umsning. The members of the Seng Samla took part in the programme and over 200 saplings were planted.

The programme was attended by FM Mawphniang, Umroi ex-MDC as the chief guest. Speaking at the programme, FM Mawphniang, appreciated the initiatives taken by the members of the NSCC for organizing the tree plantation programme.

He urged the residents of the locality to save the Mother Land from the ‘global warming’.
