A truck plies through the water clogged NH-44(E) on Monday. Following the incessant torrential downpour for the last three days in Nongstoin, the NH 44 (E) on Monday witnessed water-clogging and landslide at several areas. Many vehicles were left stranded at Sohphria, 13 kms from Nongstoin while others took the Nongstoin-Mawkyrwat-Shillong highway. The water-clogging was a result of the absence of drainage system at the road expansion sites. (ST)
