Dist Task Force warns against employing child labourers

 SHILLONG: The District Task Force on Child Labour constituted in East Khasi Hills under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal has warned employers against employing any child in their establishment below the age of fourteen years.

The Task Force, which met here on Monday, said whoever employs any child will be punishable for not less than three months which may also be extended to one year or with fine which shall not be less than Rs 10,000 and may be extended to Rs 20,000 or both.

According to the Task Force, children under the age of fourteen years are not allowed to be employed in slaughter houses, automobile shops, dhabas, restaurants and tea shops besides other establishments.
