SHILLONG: Malki SC put up a clinical performance to hold favourites Langsning FC to a 1-1 draw in a SPL league match that saw numerous scoring opportunities go down at the JN Stadium here on Tuesday.

Malki SC had its opponents on the back foot right from the start of the game and the first significant scoring opportunity came in the 12th minute when Malki forward, Timmy Ryngkhlem received a pass in the open to come face-to-face with Langsning custodian only to fail in finding his way through.

However, in the 36th minute, Timmy was again in the thick of action and scored the opening goal of the match.

However, Langsning FC almost shot back immediately when in the 38th minute Mehipaia Lamare hit a chip shot to narrowly miss the nets.

Crossing over, Langsning FC came out stronger creating some near scoring chances.

Their hard work finally paid off in the 72nd minute when PK Ningleithim produced a header to beat the goalkeeper thus saving his team from defeat.

Meanwhile, Rangdajied United will take on MLP FT on Wednesday.
