US experts to set up children’s hospital in Assam

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has invited the CEO and the managing director of USA’s oldest children’s hospital to visit the state to advise on setting up a similar facility in Assam, on Thursday.

The chief minister tendered the invitation while visiting the 156-year-old Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia during his current USA trip, a release said.

Mr Gogoi requested the CEO Steven M Altschuler, Managing Director and other faculty members of the hospital to visit Assam and come forward to set up a children’s hospital of such standard with latest medical equipment and facilities for providing quality health care to children.

The hospital authorities expressed their willingness to extend all possible guidance and support to the Government of Assam in this endeavour. (UNI)
