SHILLONG: Rangdajied United maintained their hold on the points table of the Shillong Premier League 2012 with a victory over Nangkiew Irat SC by a solitary goal.

Jeribe Kelechi scored the lone goal of the match with a through ball that went past Nangkiew keeper Lebbios in the 52nd minute.

Nangkiew Irat SC did well in the first half, creating a handful of scoring opportunities but failed to convert any of them.

Favorites Rangdajied United did well to keep pressure on their opponents’ midfield and defence before Jeribe finally found the net. The pressure was evident from the frequent long shots attempted by Nangkiew Irat’s attacking midfielders.

Two minutes later, Nangkiew Irat SC’s Benjamin received a clear-cut chance but his shot missed the goal by inches.

The win ensures Rangdajied’s stay at the top of the league table with nine points followed by MLP FT and Shillong Lajong FC with four points apiece.
