Career counselling

The Counselling Psychology Department of Martin Luther Christian University on Wednesday conducted a one-day career counselling workshop among class 12 students at the Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Shillong. 50 girls participated in the workshop. The department has been conducting such workshop in various villages and schools in Meghalaya and even in Manipur and Nagaland.

Dance prog

The All Jaintia Youth will organize Dance Jaintia Dance Programme 2012 from July 21 to October 20.

Awareness prog

The Ieng Rasong Sports Social and Cultural Club in collaboration with the district planning office, Shillong and the Dorbar Shnong of Mawkdok recently conducted a environment awareness programme at Community Hall Mawkdok village which saw the participation of many people.

Office bearers

The Dorbar Shnong Wahingdoh has selected new office bearers for the tenure of 4 years from 2012-15 with Drowingson Dkhar as the Rangbah Shnong, Ranjit S Marbaniang and Fedinand Basaiawmoit as the assistant Rangbah Shnong I and II, Phikir Star Lyngdoh as the general secretary besides others.

Body found

One male unidentified dead body was recovered from Umpanai village on June 27. The deceased seem to be a non-tribal whose height is 5 ft 7 inch, fair complexion and his wearing apparel included a black T-Shirt, blue colour track pant and bare-footed. He is being kept at civil hospital Shillong for identification.

New members

The National Students’ Union of India has constituted a ‘State Co ordination committee’ of Meghalaya NSUI for the smooth functioning of the operational work till the organizational election process is held. The committee comprises of Bansharailin KharChandy as the convener besides nine members.
