SHILLONG: Royal Wahingdoh FC staged a comeback to beat Langsning FC in a Shillong Premier League (SPL) match at the JN Stadium here on Wednesday.
Langsning, who appear to be struggling this season went into the lead almost immediately after half time when Mayosing scored off a long shot in the 48th minute, adding life to a rather slow game. Mayosing got into position to time his shot well and in the process had Wahingdoh custodian Karma struggling to get his hands on the ball.
However, the lead was short-lived and five minutes later, a through pass inside the penalty area by Royal Wahingdoh FC’s Zosangkima to Mala saw the latter score the equaliser for his side.
Buoyed by the goal, Wahingdoh went ahead in the 55th minute after skipper Jackichand Singh netted one off a Laldinmawia cross from the edge of the box. Langsning almost produced a stunner in the 84th minute when a shot from one of its forwards ended up finding the crossbar. A significant number of missed chances by Langsning FC strikers eventually proved costly. Langsning’s Malsoma Chhangte and Royal Wahingdoh’s Bicky Kharkongor received yellow cards in the game.
