Shillong: Mawprem legislator Manas Chaudhuri, who recently joined the Congress as an associate member, attended his first CLP meeting here on Thursday evening.
“It was a privilege that our new associate member Manas Chaudhuri attended the meeting,” Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said after the meeting.
The meeting, which lasted two hours, dwelt on the programme scheduled to take place in Guwahati on Friday in connection with UPA’s Presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee’s visit.
The meeting also discussed the ongoing boundary row with Assam and the prevalent situation along the disputed areas especially at Langpih.
Dr Sangma informed after the meeting that the CLP shared all inputs about the prevalent situation in the border areas.
“It is important for all the CLP members that they know what steps the State Government is taking to address the boundary dispute with Assam,” Dr Sangma added.
