 NONGSTOIN: With a view to make people aware about various Acts of Law pertaining to their day today life, the Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Mawkyrwat Sub-Division in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, organized a one day long Legal Literacy Campaign on Thursday at Jakrem village where a large number of people including myntri, secretaries shnong and NGOs took part.

In his introductory speech, the Additional Deputy Commissioner in charge Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Mawkyrwat Sub-Division Mr K.L.Nongbri MCS briefly elaborated on different acts of law which are related with everyday life of the people.

Resource persons , highlighted at length on Legal Aid, Lok Adalat, functions of Legal Services Authority etc and Right to Information respectively while the Principal of Sngap Syiem College Dr. S.S.Khongkliam and Mr E.L.Marshilong, Advocate talked on Right to Education and Registration of Birth and death Act 1969.
