Protest Day

The Shillong High Court Bar Association has decided to observe July 11 and 12 as protest days by abstaining from attending courts in protest against the Higher Education and Research Bill 2011, stating that the Bill is against the interest of the society.

Seminar

The text book Committee (Nepali) recently organized a two-day seminar on ‘Review of Text books, learning and teaching methods in Nepali language’ at Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School. The workshop was attended by chairman of MBOSE besides some Nepali experts from the country and abroad.

Rotary ceremony

The Rotary Club of Shillong will hold its 56th installation ceremony of the president and board of directors for the year 2012-13 on July 14 at 7.15 pm at Hotel Pinewood.

Two injured

A Bolero (ML05G-5184) travelling to Aizawl from Shillong was hit by a truck (WB57B-1343) at Ialong, Jaintia Hills on Tuesday. The 108 ESA based at Jowai admitted H Lalrin Mauya and RC Puia to Jowai Civil Hospital and then to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.
