SHILLONG: In minor bureaucratic reshuffle, the State government has appointed the director of Mineral Resources Department Peter S Dkhar as the new Deputy Commissioner of Jaintia Hills district.
Dkhar will replace Tining Dkhar. “Peter S Dkhar will assume office on Wednesday,” official sources said on Tuesday.
Several organizations of the district have been demanding removal of Tining Dkhar.
The NGOs had even moved Governor RS Mooshahary and Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma for his removal.
Tining Dkhar took charge as the deputy commissioner of Jaintia Hills district on July 1, 2009.
