SSPTS to launch 100th maxi taxi

 SHILLONG: The much hyped Shillong Supplementary Public Transport System (SSPTS) will launch its 100th maxi taxi at a function on Saturday.

Informing this here on Thursday, Shillong Municipal Board CEO T Lyngwa said, “We are happy that we are crossing a century.”

Presently 90 SSPTS vehicles are operating in the city.

The 100th vehicle will be flagged off by the Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngoh at function in the State Central Library.

The public transport system in the city has improved largely after the State Government earlier launched the SPTS buses followed by the SSPTS maxi taxis.
