SHILLONG: The fate of the eighteen candidates, who have successfully cleared Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination for appointment as Lower Division Assistant (LDA), remains uncertain with the State Government keeping stoic silence on the issue.

Despite running from pillar to post, the candidates have failed to get any response from the government.

The candidates are tensed up over the fact that their selection will lapse if it is not extended immediately.

The aggrieved candidates have even sought the Chief Minister’s intervention for an early settlement.

It may be mentioned that out of 126 candidates selected, 108 had already been appointed while the remaining 18 are awaiting appointment for the last one year from the date of declaration of results.
