SHILLONG: Adding yet another feather to its cap, Shillong Chamber Choir enthralled the spectators at the closing ceremony of the World Choir Games at Cincinnati, Ohio, in the United States on Saturday.
The SCC was among the 19 choirs chosen to represent India in the World Choir Games. This year’s event witnessed participation of 82 countries and 400 Choirs from around the world.
“We had a wonderful time and we would once again like to share our experience with our supporters and well-wishers back home in Shillong,” the Choir said in a statement issued later on Sunday.
The SCC will now travel to Washington DC for a few more performances at the International Monetary Fund, the Civic Centre and a other private concerts.
The Choir will also travel to Philadelphia and New York.
The choir group had earlier went on to bag three gold medals at the 6th World Choir Games in Shanghai, and followed it up with a performance for US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during their state visit to India the same year.
