Pune: Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan reviewed here Saturday the investigations into the serial bomb blasts which rocked the city three days ago.

Chavan, who visited the city for the first time since the four low-intensity blasts Wednesday evening in which one person was injured, held discussions with police officials and the investigating agencies.

The Chief Minister’s review came two days after state’s Home Minister R.R. Patil visited the spots of the blasts on the busy Junglee Maharaj Road.

Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde would visit Pune to assess the situation arising out of the blasts, officials said.

Though investigators have yet to make any headway in the probe, the needle of suspicion was pointing to, among others, banned outfit Indian Mujahideen, which is reportedly active in and around Pune, police sources said.

Police interrogated the lone victim in the blast, Dayanand Patil, a tailor, his wife and at least four other people, but they were currently not considered to be involved in the blasts, sources said.

The investigators have prepared two sketches of suspects but they were yet to be released for circulation among people. (IANS)
