KHLIEHRIAT: The Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF), East Jaintia hills closed down a pharmacy located at Iapmala village in East Jaintia hills District for selling medicine past their expiry date.

According to the JYF president, Niwasly Rymbai, the owner of the Pharmacy was also a suspected Bangladeshi national.

“We received few complaints from the local people about the illegal sell of medicines past their expiry date, so we conducted a surprise check and found that the Pharmacy owner, Md. Sahab Uddin Mazumdar is selling medicines past their expiry date which may badly affect the health of the people”, Rymbai said.

“Mazumdar also failed to produce any valid document to prove that he is an Indian”, Rymbai added
