SHILLONG: Malki SC cruised to their fourth consecutive victory on Tuesday at the JN Stadium after pulverising Nangkiew Irat SC 4-1 in a one-sided contest.

With this game in their pocket, Malki remain in contention for a semifinal spot while Nangkiew’s chances of finding a place in the top four appears to be growing dimmer.

Malki took the lead just six minutes into play after Shankupar converted a well-calculated cross, while Nangkiew levelled in the 42nd minute after skipper Aiborlang Rani fired one past keeper Larry following a corner.

However, Malki’s tactful gameplay saw them come back in the second half to score three goals and hand their opponents a thrashing.

Ezeani Chukwononso was also sent off in the 73rd minute after being shown a second yellow card, which was a major setback for Nangkiew.

Six minutes after the break, Timmy took a shot that slipped past goalkeeper Ebor and flew into the net, giving Malki the lead once again.

Substitute Rikomen, replacing local hero Samson, then put two into the net, first in the 88th minute and then three minutes into injury time, when the midfielder scored after taking possession in the penalty area.
