Cong candidates likely in Nov

 SHILLONG: The Congress is likely to announce its candidates for the 2013 Assembly election sometime in November.

The party in fact started the process of issuing of application forms from Thursday.

“The application forms to all the ticket aspirants would be issued till August 31,” MPCC president DD Lapang told reporters here on Friday.

According to him, the ticket aspirants are required to return the duly filled up application forms to their respective Block Congress Committees between September1 to 15.

“After this, the BCC would have to submit to application forms to the District Congress Committee (DCC) on October 1. Finally, the DCC will submit the same to the MPCC on October 15,” he said.

After receiving of the applications forms, Lapang informed that the MPCC along with the coordination committee led by the AICC general secretary in-charge Meghalaya Dhaniram Shandil would scrutinize the application forms. “After scrutiny, they would finally submit the list to the AICC for the final approval,” MPCC president added.
