SHILLONG: The Federation of All Meghalaya Adhoc Secondary Teachers’ Association (FAMASTA) has threatened to hold agitation to press for its long pending demands. The FAMASTA also shot off a letter to Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Tuesday informing him about its plan to hold a silent protest march on August 31.

The FAMASTA has been demanding upgradation of schools to deficit system. The letter also urged the State Government to invite the teachers’ body for talks immediately in order to resolve the matter amicably.

The Association claimed that there are 261 adhoc schools under its banner in the state.
