Final list of polling stations
The district election officer of West Khasi Hills has informed that in connection with the general election to the legislative assembly 2013, the final list of polling stations with respect to 33-Rambrai Jyrngam (ST) assembly Constituency within the 1-Shillong Parliamentary Constituency has been published in accordance with section 25 of the representation of the People Act, 1951.
Assistance to Vas, NGOs, SHGs
The district planning officer of West Khasi Hills has invited proposal from voluntary agencies, non-government originations and self help groups for consideration of providing financial assistance from the voluntary action fund (VAF) of state planning department during 2011-2012.
Dance programme
Shillong Surnandan, Laban in collaboration with Manipuri Nartanalaya, Kolkata will organize a dance programme “Ananta Dhara on September 23 at Anton Hall.The programme is supported by RAJA ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation.
Street play
The North Eastern regional Domestic Workers’ Movement in collaboration with the BSW students from St Edmunds College will be organising a street play to address the trafficking and the ban of child labour at Khyndai Lad near MUDA at 12 noon on September 7 with an objective to make the public aware about this issue for the social protection.
Literacy day
The State Project Office SEMAM (SSA) will observe World Literacy Day on Saturday at St Anthonys college auditorium at 11 am. Education Minister RC Laloo will be the chief guest.
Foundation stone
Minister of Social Welfate JA Lyngdoh will lay the foundation stone for the youth centre at Lam Jingshai U khrist Parish, Marbisu on Saturday at 2 pm.
Workshop
The Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills Districe, Nongstoin has informed that a special workshop would be held on September 28 at 11am at TRYSEM Hall, DC’s Office, Nongstoin. All Sordars, Headmen and members of the NGOs and Civil Societies within Nongstoin Township are requested to participate in the workshop.
Lok Adalat
The Ri Bhoi district administration in collaboration with the Meghalaya State legal Service Authority (MSLSA) will organise the Lok Adalat at Ri Bhoi Presbyterian Secondary School, Nongpoh on September 8 from 10am onwards.
