Anti-infiltration drive

In an Anti-Infiltration Drive carried out by the police and magistrates at Butcher Compound in Mawprem on Saturday morning, two persons were picked up for their failure to produce valid documents. Police informed that except for the two, all had valid papers. The apprehended persons were sent back to their hometowns.

 Achievement

Bikarma Singh of Pynthorbah has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Botany. He worked on the topic ‘Arboreal Flora of Nokrek Biosphere Reserve, Meghalaya’ under the hjoint supervision of Prof SK Borthakur of the Botany Department, Guahati University and Dr SJ Phukan. He was awarded the Gold Medal in 2005 by NEHU for securing first position in Botany.
