SHILLONG: All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. This very old saying explains the encouraging appreciation of T Lyngdoh, Joint Director of School Education & Literacy, to students performing at the Children’s Concert, Na Ki Persara organised by All India Radio, Shillong.

The Concert was held at Dinam Hall, Jaiaw. Lyngdoh expressed that poetry recitation, skits and songs, would not only benefit the students by way of removing stage fright and developing confidence, but it also has a deep spiritual value, and can have a lasting impact in the minds of the youth including transforming the society.

St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Pearly Dew Secondary School, Khasi Jaintia National Government Primary School, St. Joseph’s English School, Shullai Progressive Secondary School and Sunrays Secondary School participated in the concert.

Lyngdoh thought it would also be a very good opportunity for students of the 400 schools in East Khasi Hills and was supportive of AIR Shillong organizing more such programmes.
