DIMAPUR: The NSCN-IM has strongly refuted to the news report of The Indian Express of Monday edition whereby it was stated that the government of India had secured a written commitment from the Isak-Muivah group of the NSCN that the latter outfit would accept the Indian Constitution.
“The NSCN is wondering how and where Mr.Pranab Dhal Samanta (The Indian Express reporter) got the idea that the government of India has secured a written commitment from the NSCN that it will accept the Indian Constitution,” said the NSCN-IM on Tuesday. “If the Naga people under the leadership of Isak-Muivah would like to accept the Indian Constitution, they would have accepted the Shillong Accord when it was signed. There would not have been political negotiations for such 15 long years,” the Naga outfit reasons.
“Perhaps, in the final analysis, Mr.Pranab must be attempting to hijack the peace process to serve his personal interest. But nobody will be thankful to him for this kind of scheme. He should not make fool of himself,” they added. (NNN)
