Impulse NGO Network bags CNN-IBN award

SHILLONG: Recognizing the inspirational stories of everyday Indians, who are doing their bit to bring about a positive change, CNN-IBN, in partnership with Jaypee Group, named Impulse NGO network, Shillong as one of the 15 recipients of the inaugural edition of ‘India Positive Awards.

Impulse has been involved in fighting the coal mafia and saving lives of children trafficked from Nepal, Assam and Bangladesh to work as bonded labour in the rat hole coal mines of Jaintia Hills.

The awards ceremony will be telecast on CNN-IBN on Saturday.

Speaking about the awards, Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, CNN-IBN, IBN7 & IBN-Lokmat, said, “India Positive aims to explore and spread the goodness of Indians, who enrich the lives of others and the society at large and these Awards are an effort to acknowledge the initiatives by such optimistic people who are a source of inspiration to fellow Indians.”
