ULDA militants held in Tripura

Agartala: Three dreaded militants of the Assam-based United Democratic Liberation Army (UDLA) were arrested in Tripura and handed over to Assam Police on Sunday, police here said. Dharmanagar is about 200 km from here. Police have recovered Rs.35,000 in cash and five mobile SIM cards for cell phones from them. Their bases are in Patharkhandi and Highlakandhi areas of southern Assam and they carry out murders, abductions and run extortion rackets in both states. Tripura shares a 53-km border with Assam and 109-km border with Mizoram. (IANS)
