Murder

Police on Wednesday recovered the body of Abdul Sattar, a teacher of Mawsynram Higher Secondary School from his quarter. Police suspect it to be a murder case. The body has been sent to Shillong Civil Hospital for postmortem.

Theft

Police on Wednesday evening intercepted a maruti car (ML 04 B 2029) and arrested the driver, one Komi Phawa, at Mawblei. The vehicle was stolen from Amlarem on Wednesday.

Police on Wednesday recovered a Hyundai Getz (ML-05D-8955) from Mawdiangdiang, belonging to one Depo Naro which was stolen from Nagaland House at Nongrim Hills on November 13.

On November 11 night, unknown miscreants stole Rs 49,380 from a restaurant belonging to one Sar Im Bey at Laitumkhrah Main Road.

One Athon A Marak lodged a complaint at Tura PS that in August, unknown miscreants stole Rs 1,16,000 from his house at Daren Agal in West Garo Hills. On November 11, unknown miscreants stole three mobile phones along with four SIM cards and one card reader valued around Rs. 9,000 from his house.

Fraud

One Harpidiyu Suiam lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that that M/s Jeevan Shuraksha Group of Companies operating in Jowai has cheated employees and investors of their salaries and returns.

Assault

One Deeksha Jain lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on November 13 at around 2.15 pm, her husband, Romeshchandra Jain and her in-laws Vikash Jain and Kamla Jain assaulted her and her mother at Lower Lachumiere. They also demanded Rs 20 lakh as dowry. Police have arrested all the accused.

Rape

A complaint was lodged at Khliehriat PS that on November 12 at around 3 pm, one Chos Pale (37) raped his minor daughter (15) in a vehicle at Thadladaw in East Jaintia Hills.

Attempt to murder

One Domai Singh lodged a complaint at Nongpoh PS that on November 12 at around 10 pm, her husband, Bhanu Singh (50) strangulated her with the intention to kill her at Iew Mawlong in Ri-Bhoi and also threatened her with dire consequences.
