SHILLONG: Hundreds of lower primary adhoc teachers under the banner of All Meghalaya Adhoc Lower Primary School Association (AMALPSA) on Thursday held a sit-in demonstration in the city demanding an increase in their salary.
The teachers also expressed their unhappiness over the government’s failure to respond to their memorandum submitted to the education minister RC Laloo earlier this year.
The AMALPSA president B Marbaniang said, “The salary that we draw is minimal and does not help meet our requirements and we are being neglected.”
It may be mentioned that 1116 adhoc teachers are working in primary schools of the state.
