NONGSTOIN: HSPDP supremo Hopingstone Lyngdoh on Tuesday informed that a general meeting of the party would be held in Nongstoin on November 26 at 11 am.
The meeting would be a historic one as people from all over Khasi and Jaintia Hills would attend it, Lyngdoh told newsmen here.
He added that as per the Survey of India’s inclusion of Langpih and Blocks I and II in Assam, he had asked 62 villages of Hima Raid Mynsaw Langpih, 8 villages of Hima Nongwah, 14 villages of Byrnihat, 28 villages of Block II and Raid Nongtung of Hima Khyrim, 32 villages from Block I, 6 villages from Ratacherra and the forest areas bordering Khasi and Jaintia Hills in Assam to attend the meeting to discuss the claims made by Assam and to question the exclusion of the areas from Meghalaya.
Lyngdoh made it clear that the meeting would be non-political and people from all parties were welcome to discuss the genuine concern of the State.
