Rangbah Shnong felicitated

SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong of Mawprem on Saturday organised a special programme to felicitate RB Rynjah for his dedicated service as the Rangbah Shnong of Dorbar Shnong Mawprem.

In his 25 years in service to the People of Mawprem, RB Rynjah who is popularly known as Bah Ban has actively played a key role in promoting all round development in the area since 1987 when he was elected as Rangbah Shnong.

Rynjah has also contributed towards encouraging the youth to participate in the affairs of the dorbar shnong and it was in the year 2008 that the functioning of the Seng Samla Mawprem was revived through his initiatives.

Commenting on the contributions made the veteran headman during the last twenty five years, members of the Dorbar Shnong of Mawprem recalled how he made efforts in bringing peace and security in the area especially during the time of communal tension prevailing in the state.

As part of the programme, the Dorbar Shnong of Mawprem has also felicitated fourteen students of Mawprem who have excelled themselves in the various board examinations 2012.
