Blood donation camp organised in Jowai

JOWAI: Health and Social Outreach Committee (HSOC) of the Unitarian Church, Jowai in collaboration with Meghalaya AIDS Control Society organized a one-day blood donation camp on Wednesday at the campus of the Unitarian Church, Iawmusiang Jowai.

The programme was organized in commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of the Church as part of the year-long celebration which will culminate on February 9, 2013.

The programme began with a general awareness on the need to donate blood chaired by the HSOC Chairman. Headmaster, HK Singh Secondary School, T. Passah, environmentalist HH Mohrmen and Deputy Director Blood Safety, Meghalaya Aids Control Society, Dr F Kharkongor, spoke on the occasion.

Drugs Insepctor, D Tariang, presented a power point presentation on the importance of donating blood.
