Shella Dorbar Shnong case

Suspended Secretary of Shella Dorbar Shnong, Tobias Tiewdop, who was picked up by Shillong Police on Tuesday in connection with a Rs 10 lakh fraud case has been forwarded to Sohra Court on Wednesday and was remanded in 14-day judicial custody by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Police had asked for 5-day custody, which was, however, denied by the court.

Sentenced

One Terence Kahit was convicted and sentenced to 1 year 13 days of jail by the court of KML Nongbri, First Class Judicial Magistrate, in connection with a theft case registered at Laitumkhrah PS. He was involved in stealing a TV set in 2006.

Assault

On November 30 at around 8 pm, one Nidawan Lytep assaulted Marbud Lytep with a machete (dao). As a result, victim sustained injuries and was admitted at KJP Hospital, Jowai.

Theft

On December 3 at around 5 pm, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-07B-0445) belonging to one Walseng R Sangma from Jadi Bazaar in South Garo Hills.

On November 28 at around 1 am, one Shanborlin Marwein stole Rs 28,000, two pair of gold earrings and one cell phone from the house of one Kipsidora Marwein at New Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills. Police have arrested the accused.

Arson

On December 3 evening, unidentified miscreants torched one truck (AS-14-4318) at Thapa village in North Garo Hills.

Abuse and threat

Linda Nongkrem, secretary of VDP Lumtrep Nongjngi village, West Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on December 1 at around 6 pm, five persons – Klip Pale, the headman of Lumtrep village, Olingson Pale, Jailem Pale, Wanshi Kam and Hamros Niang – abused and threatened her with dire consequences.

Fraud

One Pri Dkhar lodged a complaint at Amlarem PS that on November 23, one Jester Dkhar cheated her of Rs 50,000 with a promise to provide her a job.

Abduction

One Jongsang Momin lodged a complaint at Mendipathar PS that on November 28 at about 5 pm, unknown miscreants abducted his son, Salson Marak (25) from Pakmari village, North Garo Hills.
