Four villagers assaulted by police in Garobadha

TURA: Concerned over the rising incidents of police atrocities in Garo Hills, the general public of Garobadha village has urged the Superintendent of Police, South West Garo Hills, to take necessary and immediate action against police personnel involved in the harassment and assault of four villagers in Garobadha.

Allegedly, police personnel Pejush Marak and his team of the Garobadha Investigation Centre assaulted four persons for no reason while they were returning home from the market on December 2.

The victims – Abon Marak, Cheang Marak, Radik Sangma and Isac Momin – who were allegedly assaulted by the police personnel have not recovered from the physical and psychological injuries inflicted on them.
