40 entries received for first-ever Khasi film award

 SHILLONG: The 1st ever Khasi Film Awards selection procedure has commenced with a total of 40 entries received by the organizers as on December 15.

For the first edition 30 Khasi films and 10 Jaintia films will undergo the nomination procedure which will commence shortly, the details of which can be found on www.khasifilmawards.org, organizers of the event said.

As per rules for nominations, the shortlisted entries will undergo preferential voting through ballot in which members of the direction branch, writers’ branch, technical branch and music branch comprising of six judges each will vote to nominate the finalists who will compete in a total of 17 categories. The nominees will then be judged by a four-member jury panel.

People’s choice in the form of SMS and web voting will also be taken into account and its value will be added up to the jury’s score.

The final tabulation will then be done by a competent chattered accountant who will then seal the results until announcement, the organizers informed.
