VDP spots Ind candidate with cash

 JOWAI: A joint village defense party (VDP) from seven villages detected a huge amount of cash with JHADC MDC, Hillarius Dkhar while they were conducting a raid to seize illicit liquor on Saturday.

Dkhar, an independent candidate, is aspiring to contest the upcoming Assembly election in the State from Nartiang Constituency.

The VDP members from Rakabah, Nongrim, Bambthong, Mukbu, Kdiap, Laru and Umbluh were led by Ms Bailin Mukhim among others.

“While conducting the check at around 9:35 am we came across two vehicles- a Mahindra Max and a Maruti Gypsy belonging to Hillarius Dkhar”, said the VDP President, Bailin Mukhim adding that they spotted two poly bags full of currency notes with denominations

ranging from 1000 to 100.

The MDC allegedly challenged the women VDP’s members and abused them following which they called the police.

Sources alleged that the incharge of Nartiang police station did not take any action against the MDC.
