Seminar on the ‘Role of Hindi’ held

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samity, Shillong organised a seminar on “Role  Of Hindi in National Unity and Integration” at one of its centre at the Tirot Sing Memorial Secondary School, Mawkdok recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Central Hindi Directorate, New Delhi Director, Professor Kesharilal Varma praised the work of the Samity. He said that along with our mother tongue the inclusion of Hindi is  also necessary for national unity.  Survanshi Chaudhary, Purvanchal Mantri Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samity, Wardha while
speaking on the seminar viewed that it is the responsibility of the government to spread the knowledge of the national language all over the country but since the Government has not been able to do so, therefore voluntary institution are taking up this work.
The sordar of Mawkdok, W Nongrum in his speech wanted people of his area to learn Hindi as it is an importance means of communication, especially when people  travel out of the state .
