Ranchi: The India and England cricket teams reached MS Dhoni’s home town on Wednesday to be present on the inauguration of the newly constructed stadium here on January 18 where the third ODI between the two teams will be played the very next day.
After helping his team level the 5-match series 1-1 with a brilliant 72 at Kochi on Tuesday, Dhoni drove to his home at Harmu straight from the airport.
The cricketers will visit the JSCA International Cricket Stadium on Thursday for practice, the JSCA sources said here.
The stadium will be inaugurated on Friday, according to a JSCA release.
This is the first time that Ranchi is hosting an international match.
The structure of the JSCA International Cricket Stadium is not just confined to cricket alone, with a tennis facility already in place and a swimming pool to come up in the near future.
The Rs 180 crore state-of-the-art stadium has a sitting capacity between 39,000 and 40,000 people. (PTI)
