NONGPOH: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) formed its Ri-Bhoi district unit on Friday for streamlining the party functioning and campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections in the State.
In a meeting held at Umsning Community Hall (Proper A) RM Dorphang was elected as the new district president of the NCP while journalist turned politician CGR Syngkli was named the vice president. The meeting was attended by 40 members of the party.
The party has so far fielded two candidates from Umroi and Nongpoh.
